My favorite America song. Written by Dewey Bunnell
Lyrics:
Sometimes late when things are real and people share the gift of gab between themselves
Some are quick to take the bait and catch the perfect prize that waits among the shelves
But Oz never did give nothing to the Tin Man
That he didn’t, didn’t already have
And Cause never was the reason for the evening
Or the tropic of Sir Galahad
So please believe in me
When I say I’m spinning round, round, round, round
Smoke glass stain bright color
Image going down, down, down, down
Soapsuds green like bubbles
Oh, Oz never did give nothing to the Tin Man
That he didn’t, didn’t already have
And Cause never was the reason for the evening
Or the tropic of Sir Galahad
So please believe in me
When I say I’m spinning round, round, round, round
Smoke glass stain bright color
Image going down, down, down, down
Soapsuds green like bubbles
No, Oz never did give nothing to the Tin Man
That he didn’t, didn’t already have
And Cause never was the reason for the evening
Or the tropic of Sir Galahad
So please believe in me

TODD RUNDGREN I Saw The Light 1972 HQ

\”I Saw the Light\” is the opening track from Todd Rundgren’s 1972 Something/Anything? double album. In the liner notes to Something/Anything?, Rundgren states that he intended the song to be the hit of the album, and copied the Motown tradition of putting hit songs at the beginning of albums. The song peaked at 15 in Canada, 16 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

I Saw The Light from Something/Anything?
LYRICS:
It was late last night
I was feeling something wasn’t right
There was not another soul in sight
Only you, only you
So we walked along,
though I knew there was something wrong
And the feeling hot me oh so strong about you
Then you gazed up at me and the answer was plain to see
‘Cause I saw the light in your eyes
Though we had our fling
I just never would suspect a thing
‘Til that little bell began to ring in my head
In my head
But I tried to run,
though I knew it wouldn’t help me none
‘Cause I couldn’t ever love no one, or so I said
But my feelings for you
were just something I never knew
‘Til I saw the light in your eyes
But I love you best
It’s not something that I say in jest
‘Cause you’re different, girl, from all the rest
In my eyes
And I ran out before but I won’t do it anymore
Can’t you see the light in my eyes

LYRICS:
If you want to cry
You can always find something to cry about
It’s so easy to be wise
Over someone else’s tears
But you have a gift
That the rest of us just can’t live without
And it’s something in your voice
When you tell us how you feel
‘Cause we’ve all loved something and lost it
And it’s burning my heart
I can’t open my mouth and just let it out
But when I hear my Blue Orpheus sing
I know that life is a wonderful thing
Somewhere there’s love and perpetual spring
I know life is a wonderful thing
Seems so long ago
The sound of your joy filled the atmosphere
We can make it on our own
But the road is so rocky and steep
And when you feel lost
No one tells you what you need to hear
And the only dream you have
Is the one that’s in your sleep
‘Cause we soon forget what we’re here for
I need someone to say he’s got dreams of his own
I’ll know I’m not alone
I want to hear my Blue Orpheus sing
I’ll know that life is a wonderful thing
Somewhere there’s love and perpetual spring
I’ll know life is a wonderful thing
Sing
You will one day be together again
Though you can not see her
Sing
She is somewhere in the world.
